Willow Creek Wildlife hosts a variety of sporting clays shoots and leagues throughout the year. Our events are popular with hunters looking to stay sharp, avid outdoorsmen and those just looking to connect with nature.

Spring and Fall League at Willow Creek Wildlife

Start Dates: April 5th and August 24, 2026

Compete in South Dakota’s premier clay target spring and fall leagues at our top-rated shooting facility near Pierre.

Get your team on the leaderboard that will be posted weekly online. Open to all.

​

• 4-week league – 100 targets per week

• Up to 6 shooters per team – top 4 scores count

• Open to all skill levels – no handicap format

• $48 per shooter per week

• Limited team spots – early registration encouraged

The Dakota Blast - Willow Creek's Annual Fun Shoot

Dates: June 11-14

Join shooters from across the region at Willow Creek Wildlife’s Annual Dakota Blast — a go at your own pace, high-target weekend built for competition, camaraderie, and pure shooting fun. Whether you’re chasing personal bests or just love breaking clays, this is one event you don’t want to miss.  Shoot as much or little as you want - open to all!

• Over $7000 in prizes (by drawing)
• Over 700 targets
• Targets you don't see any other time of year
• Saturday night dinner at the clubhouse and drawing

 

Lake Sharp Hunt Safe aka Trap & State Scholastic Clay Target Program Fundraiser

Date: August 22, 2026

Join us at Willow Creek Wildlife in Pierre, South Dakota for a community fundraiser supporting the South Dakota Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).  Last year Lake Sharp Hunt Safe donated thousands of dollars to local high school shooters to make shooting more affordable for families. This is a great way to support local youth - open to all.

 

• Trap shooting competition – youth, collegiate, and adult brackets

• Raffle prizes, concessions

• All proceeds benefit youth shooting sports in South Dakota

State Skeet & State 5-Stand Championship

Dates: September 18–20, 2026

Participate in the highly anticipated in the official 2026 State Skeet and 5-Stand Championship at Willow Creek Wildlife near Pierre.  Call to register.

 

• 3-day event – sanctioned by South Dakota Shooting Sports Association and NSSA

• Novice to expert brackets – individual and team categories

• Spectators welcome –  food onsite
